With advanced fellowship experience in breast and aesthetic surgery obtained in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Barnsley brings to Vancouver Island unique training to provide both cosmetic and reconstructive surgical care of the breast, body and face.
Dr. G. Philip Barnsley is a plastic surgeon board certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Following the successful completion of his plastic surgery training, spending years in Halifax, Ottawa and Las Vegas along the way, he opened his practice in Nanaimo in 2009. He has been dedicated to providing excellence in plastic surgical care to patients in the Central Vancouver Island region ever since.

About Dr. G. Phillip Barnsley
Dr. Barnsley completed medical school at Dalhousie University in 2001. Because he was granted early acceptance to medical school, he completed his BSc in Biology later in 2005. Following the successful completion of medical school, Dr. Barnsley was accepted into the highly sought after residency training program in Plastic Surgery at Dalhousie University. During the course of residency training, Dr. Barnsley was accepted into the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Clinician Investigator Program. During this two year program, he held a National Cancer Institute of Canada research fellowship and successfully completed an MSc in Epidemiology and Community Medicine at the University of Ottawa. In 2008, Dr. Barnsley completed his residency training, and earned Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC), with a specialty in Plastic Surgery.
