What is it?
A threadlift is a minimally invasive, safe and effective procedure that offers patients a subtle, natural-looking facelift, without undergoing a traditional facelift.

In a threadlift, tiny surgical sutures lift and support droopy areas of the brows, cheeks, face and neck. The process can be accomplished in several ways, using traditional thread, and in some cases with a thread that has tiny barb-like thread. In either process, tiny, teeth-like (barb-like) cogs grasp on to and lift the soft tissue in the face and neck. Thread is inserted in precise locations utilising long needles and once under the skin, they form a support structure that gently lifts and repositions the tissues into a more youthful position. When the effect is secured, the needle is then removed, the end of the thread is cut and knotted, allowing it to secure itself deep under the skin where it cannot be felt or seen. The threads may stay within the deep tissues and provide support.

There is minimal scarring using this procedure. Your surgeon will make tiny incisions behind the hairline and the thread is advanced through the face in a predetermined fashion, depending upon how the contours of your face are. Once the thread is in position, the body will generate new collagen bundles that surround each thread to maintain the lifted effect.
