What is it?
Also known as the laser peel, it can be a fabulous way to minimize the fine lines around the mouth and eyes. In fact, using lasers to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin is one of the main ways dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons can help turn back the clock on aging skin. Not only are lasers used to resurface aging skin, lasers are used to remove birthmarks, moles, scars, tattoos and some skin cancers. The powerful pulses of a rapid infra-red carbon dioxide (CO2) laser can resurface skin without causing bleeding or using incisions. By using the laser to remove the skin layer by layer, a dermatologist can literally remove the unwanted patch or layer without cutting or bleeding.

Laser technology (or Light Amplified by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation) yields results similar to microdermabrasion and chemical peeling, but is more precise, and uses the laser’s vaporizing technique rather than using skin stripping chemicals or the sanding technique associated with dermabrasions.
