What is it?
Calf implants differ from breast implants which are silicone sacs filled with saline solution. Calf implants are solid but pliable silicone implants that are sculpted and shaped to achieve the look that will work best with your form. Inserted behind, above, or over top of the existing muscle through small incisions behind the knee, the implant will give a more defined shape and added volume to the calf area. The exact position of the implant will be determined by you and your doctor in the consultation process. Typically, the procedure will take one hour per leg, and will be performed under general or local anesthetic, as determined by your surgeon.
Recovery time:
1 to 3 weeks.
