In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

IVF is the fertilization of an egg by sperm outside the woman's body in a glass dish. Eggs are surgically removed from the ovaries. The sperm is then introduced to the eggs. If fertilization occurs, the eggs are then placed in the uterus several days later.
